Meet Leah Castille
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing in office and Telehealth therapy services in the Birmingham, AL area. I graduated from The University of Alabama with my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work. I completed my internship and was offered a Therapist position at The University of Alabama’s WOW Program which was a part of the Department of Youth Services. I provided inpatient individual and group therapy for the girls in the facility.
I later moved back to Birmingham where I was a Therapist and Intake Coordinator at Alabama Baptist Children’s Home and Pathways Professional Counseling. I served children, adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with various issues but specialized in working with clients who experienced trauma related issues and served as a part of the Attachment and EMDR teams.
I like to work from a trauma informed care approach. You learn to understand how stress and trauma experiences impact your emotional, psychological, and social well-being. I hope to provide the emotional support necessary for you to feel safe to heal.
I specialize in working with adolescents, and individual adults who struggle with anxiety and depression, life transitions, and trauma related issues.
I am trained in utilizing Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to help those who have experienced complex trauma. I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and trained in Theraplay Level 1. I am certified to administer Prepare/ Enrich assessment for premarital and married couples.
